What information can we work from
Sketches
Sketches used in the Fabrication Industry, are simplified hand drawn drawings or partial 2D CAD Drawings. We use sketches as a basis for simple designs. Where there is no requirement for architects drawing such simple platforms or sheet metal work.
Structural Engineers Drawings
Structural Engineers Drawings set out the principle of the design. Which will state all relevant section sizes and connections. This is an essential part of producing a set of Fabrication Drawings.
Architects Drawings
The architect’s drawings include the information for setting out the steel sections, top of steel heights and visual appearance. These are used in conjunction with the Structural Engineers drawings, to produce a full set of Fabrication Drawings.

BEAM AND BOTTOM PLATE LINTEL
used to support a double leaf of building fabric such as block work inner skin and brickwork outer skin, where the support from one side needs to be hidden. In this instance the beam supports internal block work, over which plaster will be applied.

GOAL POST FRAME
generally used for rear extensions where the foundations are suitable or where pads for the columns to bear onto can be dug and cast in concrete. This type of structure allows for a large aperture to be cut into the building to support the building fabric above.

FLITCH PLATE
This is a steel plate that is drilled (generally in a staggered formation) to strengthen timber joists. Timber is usually bolted to either side of the flitch plate, which allows for the use of timber to span greater distances, where a steel would normally be required.

BOX FRAME
four section structure designed to support a building by transferring the load through the columns to the ground beam and foundations, allowing a simple solution for removal of a load bearing wall.

FULL STRUCTURAL FRAMES
A full structural steel frame can be supplied fully fabricated to be erected on site either by the client or by our own site team.

BALCONY FRAMES & PLATFROMS
A steel frame can be fabrcatied for new builds or to suit any existing property, normally secured to the exterior wall and installed with gallow brackets or columns to transfer the load to foundations, this can be surounded with frameless glass.
